ORIGINS – GENESIS 2
I ORIGIN OF
OUR DAY OF REST
Genesis 2: 1-3
1 Thus the
heavens and the earth were completed, and all their
hosts. 2 By the seventh day God completed His work which
He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had

II ORIGIN OF LABOUR
Genesis 2:15
15 Then

God clearly explained to Adam the CONSEQUENCES of disobedience.
Genesis 2: 16-17
16 The
LORD God commanded the man, saying, "From any tree of the garden you may

IV ORIGIN OF GOD’S PLAN FOR MANKIND
Genesis 2: 21-25

God’s nature of love was central to His purpose in creating men and women. In the mysterious depths of God’s own nature
there was a desire for other spiritual personalities ( other
that within the Godhead itself) on whom He could bestow His love. Even after the fall into sin, the prophet
Zephaniah could proclaim: “The Lord your God will take great delight in
you. He will quiet you with His
love. He will rejoice over you with
singing.” ( Zephaniah
