I FAITH IS….. PRACTICAL
Faith is not: FEAR
FEELING
FLUFF
FAD
FOOLISHNESS
Faith is ROOTED in a God who is REAL
Hebrews 11:1
1 Now faith is the assurance of {things} hoped for, the conviction of
things not seen.
Faith is believing
the Word of God and acting upon it, no matter how I feel, because God promises
a good result.
A. BELIEVING THE WORD OF GOD
Titus 1:2
2 in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised long
ages ago,
B. ACTING UPON IT
Matthew 11: 28
28 ¶ "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.
C. NO MATTER HOW I FEEL
Hebrews 11:7
7 By faith Noah,
being warned {by God} about things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark
for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became
an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
II FAITH IS…..PROMINENT
Faith in not a part of the Christian life – It’s the whole thing.
Consider the Gospel of Matthew: Chapters 6, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 21
III FAITH IS……POWERFUL
I John 5:4
4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the
world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.
So how do you build your faith???
1. With the WORD OF GOD - Romans 10: 17
17 So faith {comes} from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
2. With your WITNESS - Romans 10:9
9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus {as} Lord, and believe in
your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved
