Vision Statement of CPBC:
We envision a community of caring people coming together in the name of Jesus Christ.
Our
To Know Christ – Matthew 28:20, Acts
We seek to enable regular attendees to be able to grow in their relationship with Jesus through the daily worship of God, Bible literacy, and the ability to give a credible, verbal witness of their faith.
To Show Christ – Matthew 28:19, Acts
We seek to enable our church and our attendees to be able to show Christ in all that they do, whether at church or away from it.
To Serve Christ – Ephesians
We seek to
provide opportunities for our attendees to discover and utilize their spiritual
gifts. As well, we seek to enable them
to minister to the needs of the community around us and around the world.

Joshua 4
1 And it came to pass, when all the people had
completely crossed over the Jordan, that the Lord spoke to Joshua saying: 2 “Take for yourselves twelve men from the
people, one man from every tribe, 3 and command them, saying, ‘take for
yourselves twelve stones from here, out of the midst of the Jordan, from the
place where the priests’ feet stood firm.
You shall carry them over with you and leave them in the lodging place
where your lodge tonight.’” 4 Then Joshua called the twelve men whom he had
appointed from the children of Israel, one man from every tribe; 5 and Joshua said to them: “ Cross over
before the ark of the Lord your God into the midst of the Jordan, and each one
of you take us a stone in his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes
of the children of Israel, 6 that this
may be a sign among you when your children ask in time to come, saying, what
mean ye by these stones? Then you shall answer them!

COME to church ……. For the right reasons
People flit about in search of what suits their taste at the moment. It’s what some have called the “McChurch” mentality. Today it might be McDonalds for a Big Mac; tomorrow it’s Wendy’s salad bar; or perhaps the wonderful “have it your way” at Harvey’s. Spiritual consumers are interested not in what the church stands for, but in the fulfillments it can deliver. The result is an age of mix’em match’em, salad bar spirituality

HAVE an impact
Only one North American in 5 ever consults a minister, a priest, or a rabbi on everyday issues. Half of us haven’t been to a religious service for a minimum of 3 months. One in three hasn’t been to a religious service for more than a year. More than half of us – 58% - went to services regularly while growing up, but less that ½ of those – 27% - do so today. Only one in ten of us believe in all of the 10 Commandments. 40% of us believe in 5 or fewer Commandments.

Prayerless people cut themselves off from God’s prevailing power, and the frequent result is the familiar feeling of being overwhelmed, overrun, beaten down, pushed around, defeated. Surprising numbers of people are willing to settle for lives like that. Don’t be one of them. Nobody has to live like that. Prayer is the key to unlocking God’s prevailing power in your life.

So…what’s to be done?
A. RENEW , RESTORE, REVIVE
The writer of Hebrews tells us that our faithfulness un church attendance should increase as we see our Lord’s return on the horizon. We don’t know when the day of His return will be, though many signs seem to be coning into alignment. It is a sure thing that each day that passes draws us closer to its eventuality.
If there were no promised Second Coming, the condition of the world itself would be all the incentive we needed to cling to the wonderful fellowship of God’s people. But we know that Jesus will return. I want to be found faithful to everything that matters to Him, and nothing matters more than His church.
Sunday is the new Saturday. In what is being called a “post – Christian North America”, church attenders are now in the minority compared to the Sunday golfers, joggers, and late-sleepers who see no particular reason to worship their Creator. – David Jeremiah
B. RESCUE
The church is not a building. No, it is not even the people. It is actually the living presence of a holy God in a fallen world. It is the tangible evidence of an invisible hope, dressed in the skin of all the people who have found that hope. And when society comes unglued, as we’ve seen it do lately, the church becomes God’s lighthouse, shining the way for our ships to avoid the rocks, survive the tempest, and come into safe harbour. If there was ever a day when we needed the church, this is it. If there was ever a greater opportunity to invite our friends, we have it now. David Jeremiah
