Genesis chapter 9
Have you ever failed? When things were going well, did you suddenly and inexplicably blow it? The failure and sin of Noah is recorded in Genesis 9: 20 – 21
Genesis 9: 20Then Noah began farming
and planted a vineyard. 21He
drank of the wine and became drunk, and uncovered himself inside his tent.
I CANDOR of God’s word
Scripture does not hesitate to call attention to the failures of even the most saintly of men and women. Why? The whole thrust of God’s Word is a 3-word message:
FORGIVENESS
SALVATION
WALKING in newness of life.
II CAUSES of Noah’s sin
1. Despite the CLEANSING judgment of the flood, man was still a
SINNER.
2. We are most VULNERABLE when things are going well spiritually

Noah had just received some incredible promises from God – Genesis 9: 1-19
* POWER over the animals – vs. 2
* PROTECTION - vs. 15
* PLEDGE - vs. 16
III CONSEQUENCES of Noah’s sin
* vs. 21 – uncovered himself
* Ham saw and walked out to spread the word
* Ham had a REBELLIOUS spirit
towards his father’s spiritual leadership.
