CELEBRATING OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

If you had the opportunity to spend the evening with any person who’s ever lived, whom would you choose?

WHAT WILL WE DO IN HEAVEN?

WORSHIP

REST

WALK WITH GOD

RECEIVE

WORK

REIGN

I           PRESENCE  of God

            Psalm 63:1

1 O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly;
My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You,
In a dry and weary land where there is no water.

        His PRESENCE = satisfaction

His ABSENCE = thirst and longing

The wonder of our redemption will be to be welcomed into the very presence of our Lord and see Him face-to-face.

Hebrews 4:16 à Hebrews 10:19 à Revelation 22:4

Revelation 21:3 – “God HIMSELF will be with them.”

II          PEERING at God

I John 3:2 – “ We shall see Him just as He is.”

            Job 19: 25-27

            II Corinthians 3:18

18But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

God’s glory will fill and permeate the entire Heaven.  Thus, wherever we go in Heaven, we will be in the immediate presence of the full glory of God.  Wherever we go, we will enjoy the complete manifestation of God’s presence.  Throughout all eternity, we will never be separated from direct, unhindered fellowship with God.

III        PRAISE  to God

a.      MULTITUDES

Revelation 7: 9-12

9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands; 10 and they cry out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb." 11 And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying, "Amen, blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and ever Amen."

b.      MAGNIFICENCE

c.       MULTI-FACETED

·        Rejoicing – Rev. 12:12;  18:20;  19:5;  19:7

·        Singing and making music – Rev. 5:8-9;  14:1-3;  15: 1-3

·        Escalation of praise – Rev. 1:6 à 4:11 à 5:13 à 7:12

Revelation 7:12

The singing isn’t ritual, but SPONTANEOUS praise

– Rev. 5: 11-14.  If someone rescued you and your family from terrible harm, especially at great cost to himself, no one would need to tell you, “Better say thank you.”  On your own, you would shower him with praise.   Even more will you sing your Saviour’s praises and tell of His life-saving deeds.

d.      MOTIVATED by love

We’ll never lose our fascination for God as we get to know Him better.  The thrill of knowing Him will never subside.  Even on this sin cursed earth, our world is full of  PRAISE- PROMPTERS.

In Heaven, worshipping God won’t be restricted to a time posted on a sign, telling us when to start and stop.  It will permeate our lives, energize our bodies,  and fuel our imaginations.
