HUMAN AND HEAVENLY FATHERING

Principle:  I need to be to my children what my Heavenly Father is to

                  Me.

            He is: GRACIOUS

Matthew 7: 7-11 –

7"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  8"For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9"Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone?  10"Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? 11"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!

It’s a great privilege to be able to meet the NEEDS in the lives of my children.

- difference between a NEED and a WANT !

What needs can we meet?  How can we be gracious to our children, like our Heavenly Father is to us?

I           TIME

            Psalm 103: 13-14 –

13Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him. 14For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust.

Nobody has a relationship where everything is always PERFECT.

But we have a Father in Heaven who says:  I LOVE you.

II          TRUTH

Hebrews 12: 5-6

– My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when He rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines those He loves, and He punishes everyone He accepts as a son.
