The expression of joy comes directly from GOD HIMSELF

I Thessalonians 5: 23

23May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

SPIRIT - that part of us created in the image of God.

SOUL - mind, will, emotions

II Corinthians 5: 8

8We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

What will make Heaven so exciting a place to be?

I MIND

Ephesians 2: 6-7

6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

II WILL

We can anticipate an eternity of growing in Christlikeness – see II Corinthians 3: 18

III EMOTIONS

a. FRIENDS - reuniting with believing loved ones.

II Samuel 12: 23

But now that he is dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me."

b. FAMILY

Matthew 26: 29

29 I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom."

c. FAMILIAR PLACE - HOME

John 14:2

2 In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.

“ house” and “place” = singular

“dwelling places” = plural
