HOW BIG IS GOD?

BIG ENOUGH TO HANDLE MY NEEDS?

It’s easy to give mental assent to this:  If I have Christ, I have all I need.  No material loss or difficulty, however painful or inconvenient it may be, can pose a threat to who I am or what I have in Christ.

WHICH TENT do you live in?

All people live in 1 of 2 tents:

            CONTENT or DISCONTENT

Content looks beyond the circumstances and sees a better day.

Discontent looks at the circumstances and sees no other way.

Content places value on things that will forever last.

Discontent places value on things which will soon be past.

Content counts the blessings and names them one by one.

Discontent counts other blessings and thinks – This Is No Fun.

Paul did 3 things well:

1. He FOCUSSED on knowing Christ

            “ I count all things to be loss, in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ   Jesus my Lord.”  Philippians 3:8

2. He BELIEVED that everything has a purpose

            Romans 8:28 -  28And we know that God causes all things to work together for     good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose

3. He RELIED on God’s strength and therein he found

    contentment and peace

Philippians 4: 11-13 - 11Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.  12I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. 13I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

Vs. 11 – True Contentment is LEARNED

Vs. 12 – True Contentment is LASTING

            * II Corinthians 11: 23-27

Vs. 13 – True Contentment is LITTLE BY LITTLE

            * Strength means Infusion

God consistently, in a day in and day out flow, fills me and strengthens me and helps me to overcome and face the situations I’m in.

I Know – My God is in control

            * He is SOVEREIGN

I Know – My God identifies with my needs

            * He is STEADFAST

I Know – My God is all that I need

            * He is SUFFICIENT

I Know – My God continually strengthens me

            * He is STRONG

Be God’s

Be Diligent in seeking God daily

Be Grateful

Be Surrendered and Trusting

An incident in your life when you can say:

God………Only You
