MINDING OUR MINDS

D.L .Moody – The Bible was not given to increase our knowledge, but to change our

THOUGHTS.

Job 42: 1-6

1 Then Job replied to the LORD : 2 "I know that you can do all things;  no plan of yours can be thwarted.  3 You asked, 'Who is this that obscures my counsel without knowledge?' Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know.  4 "You said, 'Listen now, and I will speak; I will question you, and you shall answer me.'  5 My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.6 Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes."

2.         HOLY - Isaiah 55: 6-7

3.         HUMBLE - Psalm 94:11

- Romans 8:28 -  28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

“This verse is probably more packed with comfort than any other in the whole realm of Scripture.”  Dr. David Martyn Lloyd-Jones

This verse allows us to have:

A.        TRUST

B.         THANKSGIVING

C.        TENACITY

1. Am I guarding my heart and my thought life?

Proverbs 4:23 – watch over your heart – ( soul = mind, will, emotions ) with all

diligence, for from it flow the springs of life.

2. What dominated my thoughts?

Psalm 19:14 – Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be

acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

God uses many words to bring encouragement to us in every situation in life.  Let His words be the foundation of our right thinking.  Consider these passages in your devotional times in the months ahead:
