MADE, MARRED
I MADE – A Perfect Beginning!
Genesis 1: 26-28
- In the beginning – No Family PAIN
- The first couple was living in PERFECT harmony
- God spelled out in a little section of Genesis 2 the key ingredients to make a marriage relationship lasting and loving
Genesis 2: 24-25 - For this
reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and
they will become one flesh. 25 The man and his wife were both
naked, and they felt no shame.
Element # 1 – LEAVING
- Word means Abandon
- Not calling for parents to be ignored, forgotten or disrespected
- Switch primary allegiance to each other ( after God )
Element # 2 – CLEAVING
- Absolute
devotion, loyalty, affection, love
Element # 3 - INTIMACY
- One flesh
= physical, mental, emotional, spiritual – II Corinthians
Element # 4 – SECURITY
II MARRED – Genesis 3: 1-7
* God’s
Word is DOUBTED
* God’s Word is DISTORTED
* God’s
Word is DENIED
* God’s Word is DISOBEYED
- REALIZE that it is sin
The root problem is sin. When you’re willing to call it what it really is, God’s grace will begin to flow into your life, and the change you have been longing for will begin to develop.
“God is apposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6
- REPENT
- You don’t have to build your future on the failures of the past.
“Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow.” Isaiah 1:18
- RECEIVE His Grace
The commitment to partner with God releases His grace. “Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things which you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3
- You Can experience God’s transforming power in your marriage / family.
- Marriage and family can bring us the greatest joys in life, and they are worth fighting for. When you link up in partnership with God, phenomenal things begin to come your way.
- God is FAITHFUL
- His promises are
